Cocker Spaniel

The "spaniel" in Cocker Spaniel intimates an origin of Spain though popularized in the United Kingdom and later, North America. Accordingly there are two breeds of modern Cocker Spaniels, the American Cocker Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel. In either case, the Cocker Spaniel is distinctive for its small to medium size, long ears, squared muzzle and silky, moderately curly coat. The Cocker Spaniel is a beloved hunting or birding dog evolved to become one of the most popular family pets.
