Havanese

Originating of Cuba, the Havanese is named for the country's largest city, Havana, and is the national dog of Cuba. The Havanese is derived of a breed of Bichon, the "blanquito de la Habana" which quite literally means "little white dog of Havana". Small, fluffy, affectionate and bordering on precocious, Havanese are intelligent and easily trained, but as with any active dog breed, should be trained well from a young age. Following the Cuban Revolution, very few made it to the United States.
