English Bulldog

Originating of the United Kingdom and also known as the English or British Bulldog, the Bulldog was thusly titled as a fighting dog pitted against bull livestock, locking onto the animal's nose and wrestling it to the ground, a practice known as bull baiting. The British Bulldog was the poster boy for British World War I propaganda posters and also served as the mascot to Winston Churchill's general election. The American Bulldog is a distant cousin more closely resembling the Pit Bull Terrier.
