Labrador Retriever

Originating of Canada and as with its distant cousin, the Golden Retriever, the Labrador Retriever is a hunting or "gun dog", initially bred to retrieve waterfowl without damaging the kill. In modern times, the Labrador Retriever has become ideally suited as a service dog, particularly for the hearing or sight impaired. The breed is also commonly used as a detection and screening dog for law enforcement and other agencies. As a therapy dog, the Labrador Retriever also aids those with autism.
