Scottish Terrier

Originating of Scotland and also known as the Aberdeen Terrier, the Scottish Terrier was originally bred as a hunter to catch rats, otters, fox and badgers as well. In addition to military service during World War I and World War II, Scotties are now commonly employed as service therapy dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD. While any well trained dog can be acclimated to kids and pets alike, the Scottish Terrier is most itself in a single-pet environment, a perfect empty-nest companion.
