Originating of the United States, the Yorkie-poo, while not an officially recognized breed, is a modern breed of "designer dog", a crossbreed of two specific purebreds: the Yorkshire Terrier and the Poodle with the successful intention of creating a small, hypoallergenic lapdog. Highly trainable, Yorkie-poos are devoted, affectionate companion animals. As with many toy breeds, the Yorkie-poo thrives on -- and demands -- attention and is best suited to a no child, no other pet home.
